Beer consumption increases your lifespan!!!!


Yes that is right and you read it here. There is a published research paper that shows that one beer a day has been claimed that alcohol lengthens telomeres. For those of you who do not know what a telomere is they are the end points of chromosomal DNA. The longer your telomere the longer you live provided that you don't get run over by a bus or eaten by a shark.

Telomeres are essential to ensuring that the DNA strands are repaired and copied correctly.

Unfortunately for the beer lovers out there this study was the only one that found these results. The majority of studies on alcohol and telomere length have found that alcohol consumption actually decreases the length of you telomeres.

There are a number of things that you can do to help increase your telomeres. These include:

1. A reduction of Cortisol levels in the body

2. Exercising frequently

3. Reducing Free Radical Production

4. Reducing Oxidative Stress

5. Reduce Abdominal Obesity

These five factors are all lifestyle related. By changing your nutrition and exercise patterns you are able to have a positive effect on the length of your telomeres.
